Wireshark (Ethereal) IPsec ESP preference parser off-by-one
| wireshark-esp-offbyone (28553) |
Description:
Wireshark (formerly known as Ethereal) is vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by multiple off-by-one errors in the IPsec ESP preference parser, if Wireshark was compiled with ESP decryption support. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending specially-crafted packet to cause the application to crash and possibly execute arbitrary commands on the system.
