BSD PPP link control protocol (LCP) buffer overflow
| bsd-ppp-lcp-bo (28562) |
Description:
The Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) in multiple BSD distributions is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by a buffer overflow. By sending specially-crafted Link Control Protocol (LCP) packet containing invalid configuration options, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and cause the BSD kernel to panic.
