Description:
Symantec Antivirus Corporate and Symantec Client Security could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the system, caused by a format string vulnerability in the Tamper Protection and Virus Alert Notification messages. By supplying specially-crafted format strings in these notification messages, a local attacker could execute arbitrary commands on the system with elevated privileges.
