Description:
Multiple Computer Associates (CA) BrightStor ARCserve backup products are vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow in the Mediasrv.exe service. By sending specially-crafted packets to the RPC interface on a vulnerable system, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with SYSTEM privileges.
