NVIDIA Linux driver buffer overflow
| nvidia-linux-driver-bo (29622) |
Description:
The NVIDIA Binary Graphics Driver for Linux is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the free() function. By sending specially-crafted glyph data using an X client, a remote or local attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with root privileges.
Note: In order to remotely exploit this vulnerability, the attacker would be required to persuade the victim to visit a malicious Web page.
