OpenBase SQL as used in Apple Xcode gnutar binary code execution
| openbasesql-gnutar-code-execution (29624) |
Description:
OpenBase SQL as used in Apple Xcode could allow a local attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system caused by a vulnerability in an untrusted search path when the /Library/OpenBase/bin/gnutar binary is called while the OpenBase server is running. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability using the TAR_OPTIONS environment variable to force a malformed gzip program to run without an absolute filename and manipulate a PATH variable to execute arbitrary code on the system with root privileges.
