NetGear MA521 wireless driver buffer overflow

netgear-ma521-bo (30442) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

NetGear MA521 wireless driver is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the MA521nd5.SYS driver when handling frames with an invalid supported-rates information element. By sending a specially-crafted 802.11 management frame to a vulnerable system, a remote attacker within wireless range could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with SYSTEM privileges.
