Description:
CA (Computer Associates) BrightStor ARCserve is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the tapeeng.exe (Tape Engine) executable. By sending a specially-crafted RPC request to TCP port 6502, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges.
