Description:

gdmchooser, part of the GNOME Display Manager, could allow a local attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the system, caused by a format string vulnerability in the host chooser window. By supplying a specially-crafted hostname containing malicious format specifiers, an attacker could execute arbitrary commands on the system with the privileges of the GNOME Display Manager (gdm) service.
