w3m certificate processing format string
| w3m-certificate-format-string (31114) |
Description:
w3m could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the system, caused by a format string vulnerability in the processing of certificates. By supplying a specially-crafted SSL certificate with a CN value containing specially-crafted format specifiers, a remote attacker could execute arbitrary commands on the system once the certificate is loaded by the w3m browser.
Note: Successful exploitation requires that the application is running with the -dump or -backend option.
