Microsoft FrontPage long URL buffer overflow

Description:
Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions PWS (Personal Web Server) for Windows is vulnerable to a denial of service attack caused by a buffer overflow. By sending a URL of 167 characters or more, a remote attacker can overflow the buffer and crash the FrontPage Web server.

Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of FrontPage Server Extensions (3.0.2.1105 or later), available from the Microsoft Web site. See References. (This issue was resolved in version 3.0.2.1105 or later of the FrontPage Server Extensions included in the IIS 4.0 setup.)
