Description:

The Adobe Acrobat Reader Plugin could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by a double free memory corruption vulnerability in the MSVCRT.free() function. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using a specially-crafted URL in a PDF document to cause a victim's browser to crash or possibly execute arbitrary code on the victim's system, if the attacker could persuade the victim to click the URL.

Note: This vulnerability only affects users running the Firefox browser.

Remedy:

Upgrade to the latest version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader Plugin (8.0.0 or later), available from the Adobe Acrobat Reader Plugin Web site. See References.
