Multiple Vendor PDF catalog dictionary and Pages attribute code execution

multiple-vendor-pdf-code-execution (31364) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

The Adobe PDF specification in Adobe Acrobat Reader, Apple Mac OS X Preview, Apple CoreGraphics and Xpdf could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service, caused by a design flaw. An attacker could create a specially-crafted catalog dictionary or Pages attribute in a PDF document to corrupt memory and possibly execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service, if the attacker could persuade the victim to open the malicious PDF file.
