Description:
MBSE BBS is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking in the mbuseradd.c file. By setting an overly long MBSE_ROOT environment variable, a local attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with root privileges.
