Cisco IOS IPv6 Type 0 routing header denial of service
| cisco-ios-ipv6-type0-dos (31715) |
Description:
Cisco devices running certain versions of Cisco Internetworking Operating System Software (IOS) with IPv6 enabled are vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by improper handling of certain IPv6 packets. By sending an IPv6 packet containing a specially-crafted Type 0 routing header, a remote attacker could corrupt memory and cause the affected device to crash. It may also be possible to exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the affected device.
