Cisco IOS TCP listener IPv4 memory leak denial of service

cisco-tcp-ipv4-dos (31716) The risk level is classified as MediumMedium Risk

Description:

Cisco devices running certain versions of Cisco Internetwork Operating System Software (IOS) are vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by a memory leak in the TCP listener. By sending a specially-crafted IPv4 TCP packet to an affected device, a remote attacker could cause the device to leak memory, which would eventually consume all available memory resources resulting in a denial of service.
