Description:

Samba could allow a remote authenticated attacker with write file share access to execute arbitrary commands on the system, caused by a format string vulnerability in the afsacl.so VFS plugin. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by creating a specially-crafted filename containing malicious format string specifiers to execute arbitrary commands or cause the application to crash, if the attacker could persuade the victim to open the malicious file.

Note: Successful exploitation requires sharing between AFS file systems and CIFS clients.
