Description:

The pg program, used in SuSE Linux systems, is setuid root. A vulnerability in this program could allow a local user to link any file on the system and then read it, including the shadow passwd file.

Platforms Affected:

  • RedHat, Linux 6.0
  • SuSE, SuSE Linux 6.2

Remedy:

Remove the suid bit from the file permissions.
