Sun Solaris rm command denial of service
| solaris-rm-dos (32399) |
Description:
Sun Solaris is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by a race condition in the -r and -R options of the rm command when deleting recursive directories. By creating a specially-crafted directory hierarchy, a local attacker could delete arbitrary files on the system, if the attacker could persude the victim to delete the malicious directory hierarchy using the rm command.
