Description:
The Code.asp sample shipped with IIS and SiteServer can be remotely exploited to read arbitrary files on vulnerable servers. This file is one of several sample files distributed with these servers that allow remote file viewing.
Platforms Affected:

- Microsoft, Site Server
- Microsoft, Windows NT 4.0
Remedy:
For Site Server 3.0:
Upgrade to the latest Site Server 3.0 Service Pack (Service Pack 3 or later), as listed in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article Q231368. See References.
For IIS 4.0:
Apply the appropriate patch for your system, as listed in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article Q231368. See References.

Remove all sample files from production Web serves. As a rule, sample code and example applications should not be installed on production servers.
