McAfee Virex Library file privilege escalation
| mcafee-virex-library-privilege-escalation (32729) |
Description:
McAfee Virex could allow a local attacker to gain elevated privileges on the system. The Library/Application/Sypport/Virex/VShieldExecute.txt file was created with insecure permissions. A local authenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability by creating a symbolic link from the /Library/Application Support/Virex/VShieldExclude.txt file to the /var/cron/tabs/root file to execute arbitrary commands on the system with ROOT privileges.
