SILC Server apps/silcd/command.c denial of service

Description:
SILC Server is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by a NULL pointer dereference in the apps/silcd/command.c file. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by creating or joining a server channel with a specially-crafted hmac algorithm name and no cipher algorithm name to crash the server.
Platforms Affected:
- Gentoo, Linux
- Pekka Riikonen, SILC Server prior to 1.0.3
Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of SILC Server (1.0.3 or later), available from the SILC Server Web site. See References.
