Wu-ftpd SITE NEWER denial of service

Description:
Wu-ftpd SITE NEWER command consumes excessive amounts of memory that could lead to a denial of service attack. Local and remote attackers could use the SITE NEWER command to perform a denial of service attack and execute arbitrary code with ftp user privileges, usually root.

Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of wu-ftpd (2.6.0 or later), as listed in CERT Advisory CA-1999-13. See References.
For Red Hat Linux 6.1:
Upgrade to the latest version of wu-ftpd (2.6.0-1 or later), as listed in RHSA-1999:043-01. See References.
For other distributions:
