Description:
3proxy is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the HTTP proxy service. By sending specially-crafted transparent requests, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the server to crash.
Platforms Affected:
- Gentoo, Linux
- Vladimir Dubrovin, 3proxy prior to 0.5.3h
Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of 3proxy (0.5.3h or later), available from the 3proxy Web site. See References.
