Multiple Adobe products .PNG file buffer overflow
| adobe-pngfile-bo (33956) |
Description:
Multiple Adobe products including Photoshop CS2/CS3, Photoshop Elements and Corel Paint Shop Pro are vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the PNG.8BI Photoshop Format Plugin. By creating a specially-crafted .PNG file, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash, if the attacker could persuade the victim to open the malicious file.
