Mozilla Firefox and SeaMonkey Digest Authentication LF response splitting
| firefox-lf-response-splitting (33981) |
Description:
Mozilla Firefox and SeaMonkey are vulnerable to HTTP response splitting attacks, caused by improper validation of input passed to the Digest Authentication service. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially-crafted URL containing an encoded LF value in the username attribute to cause the server to return a split response, once the URL is clicked. This would allow the attacker to perform further attacks, such as Web cache poisoning, cross-site scripting, and possibly obtaining sensitive information.
