Trillian IRC URL highlight buffer overflow

Description:
Trillian is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking when highlighting URLs in the IRC module. By sending an overly long specially-crafted UTF-8 encoded URL, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and possibly execute arbitrary code on the system, once the victim highlights the URL.

Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of Trillian (3.1.5.0 or later), available from the Trillian Web site. See References.
