quicktime-flipfiletypeatombton-overflow (34069) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

Apple QuickTime is vulnerable to an integer overflow in the FlipFileTypeAtom_BtoN() function. By persuading a victim to open a specially-crafted MP4 file, a remote attacker could cause the victim's QuickTime application to crash or possibly execute arbitrary code on the victim's system with the privileges of the user. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending the malicious file as an email attachment or hosting it on a Web site.

IBM ISS X-Force analysts have determined that this vulnerability can be triggered by various file types and is not limited to MP4.
