Symantec Norton ISLALERT.DLL ActiveX control buffer overflow
| symantec-islalert-bo (34328) |
Description:
Symantec Norton Personal Firewall and Norton Internet Security are vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the ISLALERT.DLL ActiveX control. By persuading a victim to visit a specially-crafted Web page that passes specially-crafted arguments to the Get() and Set() functions, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the victim's browser to crash.
