Multiple Computer Associates (CA) Anti-Virus engine coffFiles buffer overflow

ca-multiple-antivirus-cofffiles-bo (34737) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

Multiple CA products are vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the Anti-Virus engine when handling CAB files. By sending a specially-crafted CAB file containing a malicious coffFiles field, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash.
