MPlayer CDDB buffer overflow

mplayer-cddb-bo (34749) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

MPlayer is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the cddb_query_parse, cddb_parse_matches_list, and cddb_read_parse function. By creating a specially-crafted file containing an overly long album or category title, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system, if the attacker could persuade the victim to view the CDDB information.
