Description:

Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV) and Kolab Server could allow a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions, caused by a vulnerability in the parsing engine. By sending a specially-crafted RAR file to a vulnerable system, a remote attacker could bypass scanning detection and possibly execute arbitrary code on the system, once the file is processed.

Remedy:

For Clam AntiVirus:
Upgrade to the latest version of Clam AntiVirus (0.90.3 or later), available from the Clam AntiVirus Web site. See References.

For Kolab Server:
Upgrade to the latest version of Kolab Server (2.1.0 or later) and Clam AntiVirus (0.90.3 or later), available from the Clam AntiVirus and Kolab Server Web site. See References.

For Gentoo Linux (clamav):
Refer to GLSA 200706-05 for patch, upgrade, or suggested workaround information. See References.

For Debian/GNU Linux (clamav):
Refer to DSA-1320-1 for patch, upgrade, or suggested workaround information. See References.
