Ingres Database Server uuid_from_char() function buffer overflow

Description:
Ingres Database Server, which is included in multiple CA (Computer Associates) products, is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the uuid_from_char() function. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using unspecified attack vectors to execute arbitrary code on the system.
