Description:

The XFree86 xfs command could allow a symlink attack. A local attacker could create files in restricted directories, possibly allowing them to gain privileges or cause a denial of service.

Platforms Affected:

  • RedHat, XFree86-xfs 3.3.3.1-1

Remedy:

Logon as root and set the following: make rm -rf /tmp/.font-unix. For SuSE See References for latest patch from SuSE's Web site.
