Description:

Sun Java Web Start could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by a directory traversal vulnerability in the PersistenceService. By persuading a victim to view a specially-crafted applet, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to overwrite arbitrary files, including the java.policy file, and invoke applets or Java Web Start applications and execute arbitrary code on the system with the privileges of the victim.
