Description:

Ipswitch IMail Server is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow. By sending a specially-crafted Search Charset command, a authenticated remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with SYSTEM privileges.

  • Ipswitch, IMail Server prior to 2006.21

Remedy:

Upgrade to the latest version of Ipswitch IMail Server (2006.21 or later), available from the Ipswitch Web site. See References.
