Apple Mac OS X CFNetwork HTTP response splitting

macos-cfnetwork-response-splitting (35723) The risk level is classified as MediumMedium Risk

Description:

Apple Mac OS X is vulnerable to HTTP response splitting attacks, caused by improper validation of input passed to the CFNetwork. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially-crafted HTTP request to cause the server to return a split response, once the URL is clicked. This would allow the attacker to perform further attacks, such as Web cache poisoning, cross-site scripting, and possibly obtain sensitive information.

Platforms Affected:

  • Apple, Mac OS X 10.3.9
  • Apple, Mac OS X 10.4.10
  • Apple, Mac OS X Server 10.3.9
  • Apple, Mac OS X Server 10.4.10
