Sun Java System Web Server redirect feature HTTP response splitting

javasystem-redirect-response-splitting (35783) The risk level is classified as MediumMedium Risk

Description:

Sun Java System Web Server is vulnerable to HTTP response splitting attacks, caused by improper validation of input passed to the redirect feature. If the "redirect" Server Application Function (SAF) is set to use the "url-prefix" parameter, the "escape" parameter is set to "no", or the "Error" directive uses the "url-prefix" parameter in the "obj.conf" file, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially-crafted HTTP request to cause the server to return a split response, once the URL is clicked. This would allow the attacker to perform further attacks, such as Web cache poisoning, cross-site scripting, and possibly obtain sensitive information.
