Description:

Tor could allow a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions, caused by a vulnerability in ControlPort when handling multiple connections. If the ControlPort is enabled, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to bypass authentication and rewrite the "torrc" configuration file of another user, which could reveal the user's anonymity.

  • Tor, Tor prior to 0.1.2.16

Remedy:

Upgrade to the latest version of Tor (0.1.2.16 or later), available from the Tor Web site. See References.
