IBM AIX chpath, rmpath, and devinstall commands buffer overflow
| aix-chpath-rmpath-devinstall-bo (35971) |
Description:
IBM AIX is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the chpath, rmpath, and devinstall commands. By sending a specially-crafted command-line argument, a local attacker with system group privileges could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with root privileges.
