IBM DB2 buildDasPaths() DASPROF environment variable buffer overflow
| db2-environment-variables-bo (36067) |
Description:
IBM DB2 is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow in the buildDasPaths() function. By setting an overly long DASPROF environment variable, a local attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with root privileges.
Platforms Affected:
- IBM, DB2 Universal Database 8.1 FP13
- IBM, DB2 Universal Database 8.1 FP14
- IBM, DB2 Universal Database 8.1 FP1
- IBM, DB2 Universal Database 8.1 FP2
- IBM, DB2 Universal Database 8.1 FP3
- IBM, DB2 Universal Database 8.1 FP4
- IBM, DB2 Universal Database 8.1 FP5
- IBM, DB2 Universal Database 8.1 FP6
- IBM, DB2 Universal Database 8.1 FP7
- IBM, DB2 Universal Database 8.1 FP8
- IBM, DB2 Universal Database 8.1 FP9
- IBM, DB2 Universal Database 8.1 FP10
- IBM, DB2 Universal Database 8.1 FP11
- IBM, DB2 Universal Database 8.1 FP12
