Motorola Timbuktu Pro Scanner buffer overflow

Description:
Motorola Timbuktu Pro is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the Scanner functionality. By persuading a victim to connect to a malicious server and by sending a specially-crafted HELLO response packet, a remote attacker on the adjacent network could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with SYSTEM privileges.

Upgrade to the latest version of Timbuktu Pro for Windows (8.6.5 or later), available from the Motorola Netopia Web site. See References.
