debian-goodies package checkrestart privilege escalation
| debian-checkrestart-privilege-escalation (36475) |
Description:
The debian-goodies package for Debian Linux could allow a local attacker to gain elevated privileges on the system, caused by a vulnerability in the checkrestart script. By invoking a program with a specially-crafted filename and persuading the admin user to execute the checkrestart script, a local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary commands on the vulnerable system with root privileges.
