WordPress and WordPress multi-user (MU) pingback.extensions.getPingbacks() SQL injection

Description:
WordPress and WordPress multi-user (MU) are vulnerable to SQL injection. A remote attacker could send specially-crafted SQL statements to the pingback.extensions.getPingbacks() method using the post_type parameter, which could allow the attacker to view, add, modify or delete information in the back-end database.

Remedy:
For WordPress:
Upgrade to the latest version of Wordpress (2.2.3 or later), available from the WordPress Web site. See References.

Upgrade to the latest version of WordPress multi-user (MU) (1.2.6a or later), available from the WordPress multi-user (MU) Web site. See References.
