Linux kernel stack expansion denial of service
| kernel-stack-expansion-dos (36592) |
Description:
Linux kernel is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by an error in the stack expansion when the hugetlb kernel is used on PowerPC systems. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause a denial of service.

Remedy:
For Red Hat Linux (kernel):
Refer to RHSA-2007:0705-2 for patch, upgrade, or suggested workaround information. See References.
For Ubuntu Linux:
Refer to USN-518-1 for patch, upgrade, or suggested workaround information. See References.
For Debian Linux (linux-2.6):
Refer to DSA-1378-1 for patch, upgrade, or suggested workaround information. See References.
For other distributions:
Contact your vendor for upgrade or patch information.
