IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Client Acceptor daemon buffer overflow

ibm-tsm-cad-bo (36700) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the Client Acceptor Daemon. If the Client Acceptor Daemon (CAD) is used with either the Web GUI or with CAD-managed scheduling, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the client to crash.

Platforms Affected:

  • IBM, Tivoli Storage Manager Client 5.1
  • IBM, Tivoli Storage Manager Client 5.1.8.0
  • IBM, Tivoli Storage Manager Client 5.2
  • IBM, Tivoli Storage Manager Client 5.2.5.1
  • IBM, Tivoli Storage Manager Client 5.3
  • IBM, Tivoli Storage Manager Client 5.3.5.2
  • IBM, Tivoli Storage Manager Client 5.4
