IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Client Acceptor daemon buffer overflow
| ibm-tsm-cad-bo (36700) |
Description:
IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the Client Acceptor Daemon. If the Client Acceptor Daemon (CAD) is used with either the Web GUI or with CAD-managed scheduling, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the client to crash.
Platforms Affected:
- IBM, Tivoli Storage Manager Express Client 5.1 - 5.1.8.0
- IBM, Tivoli Storage Manager Express Client 5.2 - 5.2.5.1
- IBM, Tivoli Storage Manager Express Client 5.3 - 5.3.5.2
- IBM, Tivoli Storage Manager Express Client 5.4 - 5.4.1.1
