Description:
CenterTools DriveLock is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the DriveLock.exe service. By sending a specially-crafted HTTP request containing overly long characters, a local attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system.
Platforms Affected:
- CenterTools, DriveLock 5.0 and prior
- CenterTools, DriveLock SRC Server prior to 5.0.0.47
Remedy:
For DriveLock 4.x and 5.0:
Upgrade to the latest version of DriveLock (5.0.0.314 or 4.1.1.277 or later), available from the CenterTools Web site. See References.
For DriveLock SRC Server:
Upgrade to the latest version of DriveLock SRC Server (5.0.0.47 or later), available from the CenterTools Web site. See References.
