RealNetworks RealPlayer IERPCtl ActiveX buffer overflow
| realplayer-activex-bo (37280) |
Description:
The RealNetworks RealPlayer IERPCtl ActiveX control (ierpplug.dll) is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking in the Database Component in MPAMedia.dll. By persuading a victim to visit a specially-crafted Web page using Microsoft Internet Explorer, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with the privileges of the victim or cause the application to crash.
