Description:

Computer Associates (CA) Host-Based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) is vulnerable to cross-site scripting, caused by improper validation of user-supplied input passed to the server log files. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using specially-crafted HTTP requests to inject malicious script into the server log which would be executed in a victim's Web browser within the security context of the hosting Web site, once the log is viewed. An attacker could use this vulnerability to steal the victim's authentication credentials, which could be used to perform unauthorized administrative actions on the system.
