Perdition IMAP daemon str_vwrite format string
| perdition-imap-strvwrite-format-string (38184) |
Description:
The Perdition IMAP daemon could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by a format string vulnerability in the str_vwrite function. By sending a specially-crafted IMAP request containing format specifiers followed by a NULL byte character (%00), a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to bypass the format string protection mechanism and execute arbitrary code on the vulnerable system.
